Texan Albert Collins was absolutely one of all-time most prolific pioneers of the American blues, recording his first 45’s in the early sixties and rapidly becoming one of the most in demand bluesmen of his era. While recording a plethora of singles on cool blues labels like Kangaroo, Tracie and Hall-Way from 1962 to 1965, TCF Records released Albert’s first album The Cool Sounds Of Albert Collins aka Truckin’ With Albert Collins from a bunch of these wonderful single sessions.

However, the album quickly faded into obscurity until a chance meeting with Canned Heat. The band convinced the man to make a move to California and the rest is rock and blues history. Upon his arrival on the L.A. rock and blues scene, he soon became one of the country’s leading blues guitarists with a ton of devotees like Canned Heat, John Mayall, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Robert Cray whom were all diggin’ what the bluesman was laying down.

Blue Thumb Records soon re-released his stunning first album Truckin’ With Albert Collins, and blues fans the world over soon discovered the classic early sixties album which was home to his hit blues singles like "Frosty," "Tremble" and "Frost Bite" plus even more terrific blues rockers like of "Sno-Cone II," "Icy Blue" and the rockin’ "Don’t Lose Your Cool." The dozen gems that make up this jumping blues event would go on to become some of his most famous tunes.
